Day 1: Transfer to Gulu Via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After an early breakfast in Kampala, drive north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking experience—Uganda’s only wild rhinos. Explore the sanctuary on foot and enjoy wildlife viewing. After your included lunch, continue to Gulu, a bustling town in Northern Uganda. Arrive in the late afternoon, check in to your lodge, and unwind. Enjoy dinner as you prepare for the remote wilderness of Kidepo. Overnight in Gulu.

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo valley National Park

After breakfast, drive northeast through Karamoja’s scenic plains to Kidepo Valley National Park. Arrive and check into your lodge. After lunch, head out for your first game drive in the wildlife-rich Narus Valley. Spot elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, and more against a dramatic mountain backdrop. Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and a peaceful night in one of Africa’s most untouched landscapes.

Day 3: Game drive and cultural experience

After early breakfast, set off for a morning game drive as the park awakens. Spot predators, antelope, and birds in the golden light. Return for a relaxed lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, visit a nearby Karamojong community for a cultural immersion—learn about their way of life, traditional crafts, and cattle culture. Engage in local dance and storytelling before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park

Enjoy breakfast and check out for a scenic transfer south to Murchison Falls National Park, passing through remote villages and shifting landscapes. Stop for a roadside lunch en route. Arrive in the late afternoon, and check into your lodge. Relax with views of the river or a short nature walk (time permitting). Enjoy a hearty dinner and rest ahead of the next day’s exploration.

Day 5: Morning Game drive and afternoon boat cruise

After early morning breakfast on the fifth day of the six-day safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for an early morning game drive where you will be able to see animals like buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, Jackson's hartebeest, among others grazing in the open savannah plains, view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas before they go back to their hiding areas. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will head for a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. During the boat ride which takes about 2 hours, you will have spectacular views of the beautiful scenery, hippos, and Nile crocodiles in water, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, and antelopes, along the shores, water birds like the kingfishers, bee-eaters, cormorants, and fish eagles. After the boat cruise, you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Top of the falls and departure to Kampala

After breakfast, drive to the Top of the Falls viewpoint for stunning views and photo opportunities where the Nile crashes down in thunderous beauty. Begin your return journey to Kampala, stopping for lunch along the way. Reflect on the incredible wildlife and cultural experiences of your safari. Arrive in Kampala in the evening, marking the end of your unforgettable 6-day Big Five adventure.
